SUMMARY:Enchanted Cetara 2024
DESCRIPTION:Summer in Cetara lights up with “Cetara Incantata\,” another fixed moment in the billboard of Le Notti Azzurre\, in which circus art and juggling will merge with the streets and lanes leading to the sea\, glimpsing the most characteristic ravines. The alternation of atmospheres\, artists\, sounds and colors\, will transform Cetara into an enchanted place\, where the magic of the elements (water\, fire\, air\, earth) and tradition will be the guiding thread in the realization of the 2024 summer schedule\, enhancing the architectural elements and culture of the village. \nThe program of dedicated events\, each evening from 9:30 p.m.\, starts immediately on Wednesday\, Aug. 21\, with the urban theater performance “One Eyed Jacks” by Circo Bipolar\, a company that was formed in 2013 from the union of two artists\, Costanza Bernotti and Shay Wapniaz. Costanza is first and foremost an aerial acrobat; she participated in the XXIX Golden Circus Festival of Liana Orfei (Rome) in 2012 with Duo Aves\, winning the CircUp international award for young circus artists. The same year she appeared on TV in the program Italia’s Got Talent. A contemporary and dynamic circus show that combines the earthly world with the world of air\, all mixed with a poetic and sometimes humorous vein. \nIt continues on Thursday\, Aug. 22\, with “Enchantment\,” and immediately followed by “Fire” on Friday\, Aug. 23\, by the historic Compagnia Dei Folli\, which has collected numerous replicas of its shows in the most beautiful squares of Italy\, Europe and the world. The use of nouveau cirque techniques\, suspended acrobats and dancing on vertical walls\, an art form that draws its inspiration from the great Renaissance events making them unique and inimitable. A tribute to women through a fairy tale\, the former\, a performance that will involve all the senses\, the latter\, where the element is the protagonist. \nThe programming will close on Saturday\, August 24\, at 10 p.m.\, with a floating concert on the notes of the Colorplay Italian Coldplay Tribute\, who will perform interspersed with fireworks displays overlooking the harbor. \n

DESCRIPTION:“Treasures from the blue: a journey to discover the excellence of the sea” is the title of the project that brings together the city of Mazara del Vallo (Sicily) and Cetara\, a municipality on the Amalfi coast\, united by a strong link with fishing. \n“Treasures from the blue” is the project that enhances stories\, men\, resources and the territory; a concrete plan that starts from the past\, enhancing the traditional baggage of the Mediterranean communities\, and which looks to the future\, defining the new development levers for the local fish sector. \nThe value of the marine resource\, considered a pillar of the Mediterranean Diet\, is an essential strategic lever for the economic development of small coastal communities. The intent is to raise awareness of the qualities of the local fish product\, its characteristics and the benefits deriving from its consumption. \nThe intent is to make known the qualities of local fish\, with particular reference to the Red shrimp PDO of Mazara and Anchovy Colatura PDO of Cetara\, its characteristics and the benefits deriving from its consumption. \nDuring the days of the event in Cetara\, conferences on fishing issues will alternate\, show cooking with local excellence\, tastings of fish products\, traveling shows\, music\, projections of historical videos\, art exhibitions\, ceramic workshops.

SUMMARY:Night of the lamps
DESCRIPTION:Event organized by the Municipality of Cetara in collaboration with the Pro Loco Cetara-Costa D’Amalfi\, which has as its main feature the possibility of assisting from the ferries to a real anchovy fishing trip off the coast of Cetara. During fishing\, the characteristic lamparas are used to attract the shoals of anchovies under the light source. Upon returning from the fishing trip\, the lamps are left lit in the bay of Cetara while on the beach it is possible to taste dishes based on anchovies and blue fish and watch popular music performances.\nThe event takes place every year in July on a date chosen according to the phases of the moon which are essential for anchovy fishing.
